Instagram’s Most-Requested Feature Is Finally Here
According to Instagram, one of the most requested Reels features is now live: Watch History.
For years, users tried every possible workaround — digging through downloaded data, searching DMs, or scrolling endlessly — just to find a Reel they know they watched but couldn’t locate again. Now, Instagram finally solves that problem.
What’s New
You can now see every Reel you’ve previously watched, directly under:
Profile → Settings → Your Activity → Watch History
The feature lets you:
• Browse everything you’ve watched
• Sort by date, past week/month, or custom ranges
• Remove items from your history
• Sort chronologically, reverse-chronologically, or even by creator — offering more flexibility than TikTok.
Why It Matters for Marketers
This update puts Reels on par with TikTok’s user experience and removes friction that often caused content discovery to break. More importantly, it increases the chances that users will return to content, rewatch it, share it, or save it — all signals that boost performance.
